Job ads up 0.3% nationally in July 2025

Australia’s job market recorded a 0.3% rise in online job ads last month (seasonally adjusted). Advertisements increased across most major occupation groups, with labourers seeing the biggest lift. Growth was also seen across most skill levels and states and territories.

Despite this monthly rise, job ads were down 1.4% over the past year. The drop was more pronounced in capital cities than in regional areas.

Jobs and Skills Australia has constructed the persistent hiring pressure indicator, that detects sustained, unusually high demand for an occupation within a given region, as a new method of exploring Internet Vacancy Index results.
