Jobs and Skills Australia’s Industry and Occupation Employment Trending Methodology paper and related data files provide trended estimates for detailed industry and occupation employment data.

The data is designed to give a view of longer-term changes in industries and occupations.

    Use the data to:

    • view long-term employment trends through detailed occupation and industry lenses
    • complement other labour market information sources, such as the Jobs and Skills Atlas and Employment Projections. Combine data to:
      • broaden the scope of workforce planning and labour market analysis, for a comprehensive view of employment patterns
      • discover a more holistic analytical framework, potentially leading to the creation of new indicators like vacancy rates.
    • support strategic decision-making, workforce planning and labour market analysis for businesses, policymakers, researchers and other stakeholders.
