Small Area Labour Markets: December quarter 2022 data now available

The December quarter 2022 Small Area Labour Markets (SALM) estimates are now available. SALM presents estimates of unemployment and the unemployment rate at the Statistical Area Level 2 (SA2) and Local Government Area (LGA) levels.

Recruitment difficulty eases relative to 2022 rates but recruitment activity remains high

JSA's Recruitment Experiences and Outlook Survey shows that recruitment activity remained high in February 2023, relative to levels recorded over the past three years, with 55% of employers recruiting during the month.

Online job ads increased in February 2023

Jobs and Skills Australia’s February Internet Vacancy Index (IVI) shows that, in seasonally adjusted terms, online job advertisements increased at the national level by 0.8% (or 2,300 job ads) over the month to stand at 281,200.
