New Total New Vacancies (TNV) estimates there were 1,353,000 new job vacancies during the May 2026 quarter, an increase of 8% (around 99,000 vacancies) over the year.
The TNV series captures job opportunities advertised online as well as those filled through other channels such as word of mouth, signage and social media.
The series strengthens the evidence base for regional and occupation-level workforce planning. By showing where and how demand is emerging, it can support more targeted policy responses, place-based initiatives and regional planning.
