REOS March quarter 2026 results
This month, the Recruitment Experiences and Outlook Survey (REOS) spotlights the results from the March quarter.
Key findings include:
- The recruitment rate increased to 49%, 3 percentage points higher than the previous year.
- Recruitment difficulty increased over the year – up to 45%, 2 percentage points higher than the previous year.
- Expectations to increase staffing levels decreased to 18%, 2 percentage points lower than the previous year.
- Of the States, Tasmania recorded the highest recruitment rate at 57%.
- Tasmanian employers had the least difficulty recruiting staff. Whereas employers in the Northern Territory were the most likely to be looking for staff.
- Technicians and Trades Workers occupations recorded the highest rate of recruitment difficulty, at 63%.
- Accommodation and Food Services industries recorded the highest recruitment rate (67%).
