Draft Core Skills Occupations List

The Migration Strategy released on 11 December 2023 notes that Jobs and Skills Australia is responsible for the labour market analysis and stakeholder engagement which will inform the Government’s final decision on the Core Skills Occupations List (CSOL) that will target the temporary skilled migration system to Australia’s workforce needs.

On 20 March 2024, Jobs and Skills Australia released the draft Core Skills Occupations List (CSOL) for consultation. The draft CSOL does not represent the final advice that Jobs and Skills Australia will provide to Government, nor is it a decision of Government.

Information on the CSOL consultation process – which includes a survey, submissions, bilateral meetings and qualitative analysis – is available at Draft Core Skills Occupations List (CSOL).

Next steps

The Draft Core Skills Occupations List (CSOL) webpage includes an online survey and submission process (with guidelines to assist stakeholders to draft a submission). Information on options for stakeholders to participate in stakeholder consultations will be published on the Draft Core Skills Occupations List (CSOL) webpage soon.

Jobs and Skills Australia will deliver its final advice on the CSOL to Government later this year.
