2026-27 Work Plan development consultation

Our annual work plans set our priorities and guide our work program for the year ahead to ensure our work remains relevant, impactful and grounded in real world experience.

Jobs and Skills Australia provides independent, evidence-based advice to support Australia’s current and future workforce and skills needs.

We are seeking your input to help shape our 2026–27 Work Plan. Our annual work plans outline our key outcomes and priorities for each financial year.

Our work is delivered through a set of enduring programs designed to generate cumulative insight, respond to emerging needs, and support national priorities across the jobs and skills system.

Through these enduring programs, Jobs and Skills Australia focuses on:

  • understanding the current labour market
  • shaping Australia’s future labour market
  • optimising skills system performance and design
  • supporting productivity and economic growth
  • fostering inclusive participation and opportunity, and
  • activating an informed dialogue across the system.

Creating a strong, inclusive and productive labour market requires collaboration, shared evidence and informed dialogue.

Your feedback helps ensure our work plans reflects national priorities, tripartite expertise and the areas where Jobs and Skills Australia can add the greatest value.
